Inspiration for your summer holiday in the Stubaital
Impressive mountain peaks, unique rock formations and a glaciated valley end immediately attract the attention of holidaymakers in the Stubai Valley. The beauty of the mountains in the Tyrolean high and late summer is not just hinted at, it is revealed. However, as the extraordinary often remains hidden, a second look is recommended. The valley's natural treasures are hidden everywhere and can be found very close by - without having to climb steep rock faces or conquer many metres of altitude.
The 25 natural sites in the Stubai Valley are not always visible at first glance. That is why we would like to take you to these enchanting places in the Stubaital during your summer holiday: Places that tell stories and reflect history; places that offer beautiful views; places that impress and inspire; treasures that bubble and radiate energy. Everyone can discover and enjoy them, because they are often just a short walk away.
The hike starts either directly at our hotel, at the outdoor swimming pool in Neustift or at the power station at the entrance to the Oberberg Valley.
The larch trees on the Eulenwiesen provide shade but allow enough light for the undergrowth. They allow a rich flora (pasque flower, blue gentian, arnica, ...) and make room for bushes and dwarf shrubs.
The Telfer meadows have always been used for agricultural purposes and are one of the most beautiful larch meadows in Tyrol. Particularly impressive are the abundant gentian flowers in spring and the breathtaking views of the Stubai mountains on both sunny and rainy days.
The term Gschmitz means 'strip mowing', a word that refers to a mowed strip. This is due to the fact that the otherwise densely forested area between the Vergör and Pfurtschell corridors was interrupted by sections of agricultural meadows. The highlight here is the viewing platform with a swing, which offers a direct view of our local mountain, the 'Elfer'.
The Elfer, the local mountain of Neustift and us, has long served as a natural timekeeper for the locals, and also has unique geological features. Two different rock formations meet there, clearly visible.
The natural site of Wildeben is significant in many ways: in a terrain of steep climbs and wild slopes, it is the only flat and level place in the area - hence the name 'Wildeben'.
A place for people and animals. This is how you could describe the natural site of Hühnerspiel. This artistic and somewhat playful natural site was created on a plain overgrown with alpine roses and blueberry bushes just below the imposing Brenner Peak.
Climbers and hikers who reach the Gletscherblick (glacier view) nature reserve are rewarded with one of the best views in the Stubai Valley. Take a look around and you will see that the name 'Gletscherblick' could not be more appropriate.
A place to rest with breathtaking views. The meadows below the Ampferstein, the Saile and the Jochkreuz have long been used by shepherds to graze their cattle. It is also a popular destination for e-bike tours and sporty hikers.
This natural site is not only beautiful and romantic, but also has an impressive history. The large boulder is evidence of the enormous geological changes that took place here in the Pinnistal valley thousands of years ago. It has also become an object of art, as an artist has built stone monsters on it that 'hold' the stones.
